The colour combination is great. The red really adds a special something to the shades of black, grey and white. At first I thought it might have been a representation of blood at the microscopic level, but you've just said it's only an experiment.
As far as vision goes, I'm not really sure what you're trying to portray with this, so I can't judge whether I'm sharing it. However, I do like the result of your experiment. It is certainly interesting to look at.
I've never really seen anything like it before, so very original. But again, I'm not sure what you are trying to communicate with this piece, so overall it didn't have much long term impact on me.
